Fisher Captures 1,000 Advertisers with Hyperlocal Strategy
SEATTLE: Fisher Communications says its hyperlocal neighborhood sites have now attracted more than 1,000 advertisers to more than 100 neighborhood sites. The broadcaster launched the initiative last August with 43 Web sites focused on distinct Seattle neighborhoods.

The Cowles California Media stations represent the first syndication deals for Bellevue-based DataSphere and KOMO-TV owner Fisher Communications -- which are talking with other traditional media companies about adopting the hyperlocal blogging, advertising and search system that they rolled out for Fisher's broadcast stations in Washington and Oregon earlier this year. read more

Fisher Communications starts hyper-local news sites in Oregon markets
Fisher Communications Inc. said Wednesday it has set up 38 neighborhood news Web sites in the Portland and Eugene, Ore., areas.
The company, which operates radio and TV stations in Oregon, Seattle and Idaho, said the new "hyper-local" sites combine reporting from its stations with online Web templates from a company called DataSphere Technologies Inc. read more
